The Yet-To-Be-Launched Omoda 5 Just Got A Refresh For 2025

Well…how’s this for an issue with the yet-to-be-launched Omoda 5? The compact crossover has yet to go on retail sale in the Philippines (thanks to numerous delays and pushbacks), but it’s just been facelifted for the global market! To make matters worse, the first batch of the now-old Omoda 5s have been made it into the country pretty much punishing the brand’s early adopters.

The 2025 Omoda 5 comes two years after the compact crossover made its global debut and overall, it’s been restyled to look closer to its all-electric sibling, the Omoda E5 (aka Omoda 5 EV).

Based on the first official photos shared by parent company Chery, the 2025 Omoda 5 gets a new sharper DRL that’s integrated with a black bar that incorporates the Omoda badge. The love-or-hate-it grille with its trypophobia-inducing pattern has been changed. It cuts out the chrome-studded design for body-colored ones. Finally, the bumper itself has been reprofiled with a prominent X-shaped design.

Other visible changes to the 2025 Omoda 5 include new wheels (it removes the red accents seen on the current model) and a body-colored D-pillar (as opposed to the current version’s black). No news regarding the backend and interior since the company hasn’t shared any additional images as of yet.

One good news, however, is that the Philippine-spec Omodas will likely stay relevant as the mechanical bits will likely go unchanged for 2025. This means sporting a turbocharged 1.5-liter with 147 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque. This is mated to a CVT.
