GAC Motor Cements Itself As Philippines' 2nd Best-Selling Chinese Brand

Astara-backed GAC Motor Philippines is now the second best-selling Chinese car brand thanks to an outstanding year-to-date sales performance this 2024. From January to September, the brand recorded a 106 percent increase in sales compared to the same period last year, with a total of 2,511 units sold.

As reported by the Truck Manufacturers’ Association (TMA) and the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI), GAC has secured its place as the second best-selling Chinese auto brand in passenger vehicles.

At the forefront of this success are GAC Motor’s leading models: the GS3 Emzoom, M6 Pro, and M8, which continue to attract attention across various market segments. Each of these vehicles showcases cutting-edge technology, advanced features, and delivers a superior driving experience.

The brand’s impressive sales performance can be attributed not only to the popularity of its top models but also to its strategic efforts in expanding its dealer network. GAC Motor now has 29 dealerships nationwide, with plans to grow to 38 facilities (including appointments) by the end of the year, further solidifying its presence across key cities.

Adding to the brand’s growing appeal is the introduction of the Emkoo Hybrid, GAC Motor’s first hybrid model in the Philippines. This new addition demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing environmentally conscious mobility options while maintaining the high-performance standards GAC is known for.

“It has been an exhilarating year for us at GAC Motor thus far, and our incredible sales growth is a testament to the trust and confidence Filipino customers have in our brand,” said Franz Decloedt, Brand Head of GAC Motor, Astara Philippines. “We are passionately driven to uplift the lives of Filipinos by delivering exceptional mobility innovations that meet the diverse needs of today’s consumers.”

GAC Motor now has a dealer in key cities and municipalities nationwide including: Angeles City, Alabang, Bacolod, Bacoor, Batangas, BGC, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Dasmarinas, Davao, Fairview, General Santos, Iloilo, Isabela, Kawit, Manila Bay, Marilao, Matina, Mindanao Avenue, New Manila, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Pasig, Quezon Avenue, Santa Rosa, Sumulong Highway, and Tarlac.

Upcoming dealership locations include Calamba, Matina, Tacloban, Valenzuela, and Zamboanga.

  1. 2511 units ÷ 29 dealerships = 87 ÷ 9months(jan-sept) = average 9.5 units per dealerships monthly
