Its products have yet to hit showrooms, but there’s already a new person in charge over at Omoda and Jaecoo Philippines. The transition happened rather quietly (and suddenly) this week after the conclusion of the 12th Philippine EV Summit.
Terry Hu has been appointed as the new country director for Omoda and Jaecoo Motor Philippines, Inc. as the brand seeks to finally launch after a series of delays and setbacks. Hu replaces Marco Chen who setup the foundations to launch the Chinese brand as early as 2023.
Despite not being able to sell even one single vehicle yet, Omoda and Jaecoo Philippines has been busy in the marketing and promotional standpoint. Among its activities, it participated at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) as well as mall road shows around the National Capital Region. It has also repeatedly sent motoring media to China.
At the EV Summit, Omoda and Jaecoo’s latest promotional exercise, Hu presented the Omoda E5 and Jaecoo EJ6—the brand’s upcoming EV vehicles. It’s part of the brand’s commitment to offer sustainable mobility for Filipinos. Both vehicles are still not available to customers.

Additionally, Omoda’s Dorry X1, a futuristic dog robot designed for pet lovers and tech enthusiasts alike, also made a crowd-attracting appearance at the summit. Its cutting-edge design and interactive features drew significant attention, as attendees flocked to see its unique capabilities firsthand.
