BMW is expanding its all-electric BMW i range with the introduction of the i5 Touring. And in an interesting twist, this wagon packs the top-spec M60 designation.
Priced at P 7.990 million (inclusive of a 5-year warranty and wall box charger), the BMW i5 M60 xDrive Touring M60 packs 601 horsepower and 820 Nm of torque (with M Launch Control or M Sport Boost activated) thanks to dual electric motors. This gives this long roof variant the ability to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. With an 81.2-kWh battery pack, the i5 M60 xDrive Touring can go up to 506 kilometers.
Helping channel all that power, the i5 M60 xDrive Touring M60 comes with adaptive suspension with integral active steering. M sports brakes are also standard.
Outside, the i5 athletic shoulders, horizontal lines, and flat rear window emphasize its width, completed by the powerfully sculpted rear arches and M specific diffuser. The individually designed rear lights are also made to extend to the side sections, divided by an L-shaped chrome strip. All in all, the i5 has anywhere between 570 liters to 1,700 liters of cargo space available.
Like the i5, the i5 M60 XDrive Touring has the BMW Live Cockpit Plus which combines a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster with a 14.9-inch infotainment screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto comes as standard. Other features found here include power sport seats with memory, a panoramic sunroof, the high-end Merino leather, a three-way split-folding rear seat, power tailgate, and an 18-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system.
