PIMS: Toyota Motor PH To Preview All-New Hybrid, Next-Generation Tamaraw

Toyota Motor Philippines will be previewing an all-new hybrid vehicle as well as the next-generation Tamaraw at the Philippine International Motor Show (PIM). Organized by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI), the event will take place from October 24 to 27 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, Metro Manila.

Although the all-new hybrid vehicle is yet to be formally named, based on happenings around the ASEAN area, the best bet would be the all-new 2025 Camry. First launched in North America in November of last year, the latest-generation executive sedan made its way into ASEAN first in Singapore and then in Thailand this year.

The all-new Camry uses the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System that delivers a total of 227 horsepower thanks to a 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle 4-cylinder mated to an electric motor. Apart from the smaller, more powerful electric motor, the switch from the current nickel-metal hydride battery to a lithium-ion one should result in up to 19.6 km/L.

Aside from the Camry, the next-generation Tamaraw is taking a step closer to local production and sale with a showcase of available body types for the utility vehicle. The Tamaraw is slated to roll off the Santa Rosa, Laguna assembly plant by November of this year with retail sales to start soon thereafter.

These two showroom-bound vehicles aside, Toyota will feature a range of forward-thinking mobility concepts all of which fall under the brand’s “Beyond Zero” movement. These include a new concept car that will make its debut in Southeast Asia, a modern future sustainable concept inspired by motorsports, and Toyota electrified vehicles that are yet to be introduced locally.

Toyota Mobility Solutions Philippines will feature their latest products and services, such as Toyota RentaCar and Fleet360, showcasing the latest advancements in mobility solutions tailored to meet diverse customer needs.

Attendees will have the opportunity to test drive Toyota’s Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) such as the Corolla Cross, Yaris Cross, and Zenix,

“Beyond just displaying vehicles, we are excited to introduce the Beyond Zero concept that Filipinos can be part of,” shared TMP First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations Mr. Danny Cruz. “Our showcase is a demonstration of our multi-pathway approach to carbon neutrality, and we would like to encourage everyone to join us and see how we can achieve a Beyond Zero future.”
