2025 Dzire Scores (Maruti) Suzuki's First Global NCAP 5-Star Rating

Ahead of its global launch, Suzuki sent its new Suzuki Dzire (voluntarily) to the Global New Car Assessment Program (Global NCAP) for testing. Finally, it’s managed to score a 5-star rating—the first ever for a Maruti Suzuki model.

The 2025 Dzire is fitted with 6 SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and pedestrian protection as standard, thus lifting its results.

Moreover, during the Global NCAP’s frontal and side impact crash test protocols, they found the Dzire to meet the highest levels of safety.

The structure and footwell area are rated as stable and can withstand further loadings. The car offers three-point belts in all seating positions. The chest of the driver dummy in the frontal test showed marginal protection. The pole test showed full head protection and the side impact test showed full protection for the adult occupants.

In Child Occupant Protection (COP), the 18-month-old dummy showed full protection and the three-year-old dummy showed good protection to head and chest while neck protection could be improved by installing a rearward facing child seat. Side impact protection for child occupants showed full protection.

The result is night-and-day for the Suzuki Dzire. The current model is rated only with 2 stars in both Adult Occupant Protection and Child Occupant Protection. It only offers only two airbags as standard, and the structure and footwell area were rated as unstable during its frontal crash test. The side impact test showed weak protection to the dummy chest and the pole test was not performed as this model does not offer side head protection, even as an option.
