Honda Cars Philippines Recalling 16,831 Vehicles That Could Abruptly Stall

Honda Cars Philippines is recalling 16,831 vehicles for faulty fuel pump covering a wide variety of vehicles from the Jazz to the Civic Type R.

This latest recall is related to the previous fuel pump recall that had defective impellers. Honda says a defective molding process could cause the impellers to swell causing the fuel pump to stop working and the vehicle to stall or fail to start.

The following units are affected in the Philippines:
  • Honda Odyssey (2017-2019) – 587 units
  • Honda Accord (2018) – 82 units
  • Honda Mobilio (2017-2018) – 2,191 units
  • Honda BR-V (2017-2019) – 7,530 units
  • Honda Civic 1.5 Turbo (2016-2019) – 947 units
  • Honda Civic 1.8 (2016-2018) – 2,427 units
  • Honda Jazz (2015-2020) – 1,266 units
  • Honda HR-V (2018, 2020-2021) – 958 units
  • Honda CR-V (2018) – 642 units
  • Honda City (2016-2020) – 90 units
  • Honda Civic Type R (2017-2020) – 111 units
Honda Cars Philippines says that service kits to replace the defective fuel pump modules are now available at all 38 authorized Honda dealerships and three Service Centers nationwide. The replacement takes just an hour and 30 minutes to do and is free of charge to affected customers.

Customers are encouraged to schedule an appointment before bringing their cars in for the fuel pump replacement.

The company will also be posting the affected VIN numbers on their website. Owners can also inquire with their respective Honda Cars dealer or through Honda Cars Philippines’ hotline: 1800 1000 46632 and 857 7240.

  2. Honda should really focus on improving the quality of its vehicles instead of wasting money adding ADAS on its vehicles and Honda should also stop selling vehicles at ridiculous high prices

  5. May kilala ako na pasikat na honda fanboy dati sa tsikot, nakailang honda din siya. Now he’s inactive but I would have liked to see his reaction with this news. Probably sasabihin, “hindi lang naman Honda” or some lame excuse like that.

  6. Recalls would be indicative of faulty parts or design flaws but also the commitment of the manufacturing to right the faults even if they are out of warranty. You wont see that with other brands
