Isuzu PH Turns Over 22 Traviz Units For Enhanced Disaster Response

Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC), through its dealership Isuzu Cebu, officially turned over 22 brand-new Isuzu Traviz L units with Utility Van body to the City of Talisay Cebu. The turnover ceremony took place during Mayor Gerald Anthony Gullas Jr.’s State of the City Address (SOCA), showcasing a commitment to public safety and disaster preparedness.

The event was marked by the presence of Vice Mayor Hon. Richard Choy Fernandez Aznar, members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, the 22 Punong Barangays, along with their respective councils. Also in attendance were department heads from Talisay City, representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO), national government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and various People’s and Civil Society Organizations.

The ceremony included a formal blessing of the 22 new emergency vehicles, each assigned to a different barangay. These units will play a crucial role in the city’s “Aksyon Agad Rescue Program,” aimed at enhancing the rapid response capacity of Community First Responders (CFR). Equipped with the Isuzu Traviz, the CFRs will serve as the first point of contact in emergencies, reporting directly to the City Disaster Team and facilitating swift assistance to those in need.

The Isuzu Traviz L is renowned for its durability and reliability, making it an ideal choice for local government units (LGUs) across the country. The utility van, boasting a gross payload capacity of 1,660 kilograms, is one of the best in its class, providing ample space and capability for emergency equipment and personnel.

Mr. Robert Carlos, IPC Assistant Division Head for Sales, emphasized the vehicle’s popularity among LGUs, stating, “The Isuzu Traviz is widely chosen for its high payload capacity, dependable engine, and the strong aftersales support we offer. We are proud to be part of Talisay City’s initiatives to enhance public safety and emergency response.”

The City of Talisay’s investment in these vehicles demonstrates its proactive approach to disaster risk reduction and management. By equipping each barangay with its own emergency vehicle, the city aims to ensure that all communities have the necessary resources to respond effectively to crises, from medical emergencies to natural disasters.
