Lexus Philippines is issuing a recall on select units of its Lexus UX 300h. The issue surrounds the engine room main wire harness which may require replacement.
The recall involves just three units of the UX 300h produced from January 12, 2024 to January 17, 2024.
These Lexus UX 300h are subject to a manufacturing error that have their wiring harnesses that supply power to the motor generator electronic control unit (MG ECU) misrouted. Over time, these wires may fracture over time due to bending stress and vibrations, potentially leading to a loss of power when being driven, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy, according to Lexus Philippines, would be to replace the engine room main wire harness. This will be performed at no charge to vehicle owners.
Affected customers have already been notified by Lexus Philippines through an official notification letter.
