In case you missed it, Tesla is already in the Philippines. And, they’re promising to upend not just the Electric Vehicle or EV market, but the mainstream vehicle market as well thanks to the competitive pricing of its Model 3 and Model Y.
But just as quickly as they’re going to change the Philippine auto industry landscape, they’ve also started to put some peculiar Elon Musk-esque spin in some terminology. For starters, Tesla Motors Philippines would rather not have you call their “Experience Center” in Uptown Parade, Bonifacio Global City (BGC) a dealership.
From their PR:
As a note, Tesla, a global manufacturer of EVs and sustainable energy solutions, is entering the Philippine market on its own, hence we encourage referring to its Taguig establishment as the Tesla flagship store or showroom instead of referring it as a dealership.Yeah, we kid you not. This is despite the fact it says, “Importer and Dealer” right there on the front glass.
So, ladies and gentlemen, from now on, please call it the Tesla Showroom or, if you follow the official designation on the website, the “Manila-BGC Tesla Center.” Whatever you call it, this will be the place where you can explore, purchase, and even have your Tesla Model 3 or Model Y serviced.
For more information about Tesla, you can visit their showroom or call their toll free hotline: 1800 13220087.
