After confirming the existence of the Ranger Super Duty, Ford has revealed more key specs. This time, they’ve revealed a bit more about the Ranger Super Duty’s wheel and tire package. Aftermarket guys, take note: it won’t be playing nice any time soon.
Developed for hard, harsh work, the 2026 Ranger Super Duty will come equipped with an eight-stud wheel hub, steel wheel, and all-terrain tire.
The heavy-duty, eight-stud wheel hub, shared with F-250 Super Duty, was selected to provide enhanced strength and load-carrying capacity. Combined with a tough 18-inch steel wheel and 33-inch all-terrain tire, Ranger Super Duty will be able to get the job done in the most difficult terrain.
According to Ford, the eight-stud configuration offers a significant advantage in terms of load capacity and ensures an even distribution of weight across the wheel. Moreover, they’ve selected this particular wheel and tire package to “provide a great combination of strength, grip, and reliability that their hard-working customers need.”
And rightfully so as the Ranger Super Duty will have 4,500-kilogram maximum braked towing capacity, a 4,500-kilogram Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM), and a 8,000-kilogram Gross Combined Mass (GCM).
The Ranger Super Duty was developed by Ford’s IMG (International Market Group) Product Development team, led by a 1,500-strong group of designers, engineers and specialists in Australia, and will be manufactured in Thailand.
