Max Verstappen may be accustomed to driving a 1,000-horsepower Formula 1 on the racetrack, but what is his choice when it comes to a daily driver? A decidedly more “family-friendly” Audi RS 6 Avant.
The newly-crowned four-time Formula 1 world driver’s champion was spotted getting aboard his personal RS 6 Avant together with his partner, the model and influencer Kelly Piquet and her daughter. Oh, and the fact that Verstappen and Piquet are expecting their first child together, the RS 6 Avant will certainly come in handy in terms of room, convenience, and safety once this new addition to the family arrives.
Notice how “family-friendly” is in quotation marks, because despite its practical attributes, the RS 6 Avant can still fulfill Verstappen’s need for speed thanks to its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 630 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. 0 to 100 km/h takes just 3.4 seconds putting it in proper supercar territory. Helping put all that power to the ground is an 8-speed automatic that routes it through the trademark quattro all-wheel drive system. A self-locking mechanical center differential distributes power between the front and rear axle depending on which one has better traction available.
For those who want to drive like Verstappen on his off days, your wish will be granted soon as the RS 6 Avant Performance is due to arrive in the Philippines in early 2025. This version is much more extreme. The latest, most dynamic of the “fast wagon” line from Audi Sport, it’s been lightened by around eight kilograms thanks to less sound insulation and lightweight wheels.
