Subaru may be known for its World Rally Blue paintjob, but that doesn’t mean the carmaker is done experimenting with new shades. Now out on the WRX and Subaru BRZ (at least in markets like the U.S. and Japan) is Galaxy Purple Pearl.
Since the Subaru six-star logo does have interstellar origins—it’s the Japanese name for the Pleiades star cluster—it’s just fitting for them to name their new color as such.
New color aside, both the WRX and Subaru BRZ do have other minor changes this 2025.
For the WRX, Subaru has given it a new black finish echoing the North American and Philippine-spec WRX. Moreover, it now gets Bordeaux Red/Black leather seats for a sportier feel. Feature-wise, it does get improved safety thanks to an updated Driver Monitoring System and the addition of “pulse braking” which alerts the driver with intermittent braking when it detects that the driver’s distracted or falling asleep.
Meanwhile, for the U.S. BRZ Series.Purple, it gets satin silver painted wheels and black badging on the outside, and gray stitching on the leather inside. Subaru has also thrown in the STI logo on the starter button, a short throw shifter, and a flexible V-bar.
No word yet if Subaru will be offering this new color to other markets, but in case it does make it to the Philippines, would you consider Galaxy Purple Pearl or will be prefer more iconic colors like WR Blue?
New color? Dunno if it's the same color but I literally have a purple 2012 STI in my garage.
