Did Honda Cars PH Just Tease The Prelude's Local Arrival?

Is Honda Cars Philippines preparing for a possible local release of the all-new 2026 Prelude? Based on their recent activity on social media, that may be happening.

Just a few hours after Honda Motor (Japan) confirmed that the sixth-generation Prelude will arrive in markets such as Japan, North America, and Europe, Honda Cars Philippines posted the same Prelude announcement on its own social media channels. You can check the Facebook video here.

That act may seem innocuous at first, but to those who know, Honda Cars Philippines is typically local centric in their posts. Their social media account doesn’t post anything that’s not connected with their local operations so posting the Prelude trailer is kind of a big deal. Naturally, nothing’s been confirmed, but Honda Cars Philippine did caption it with, “Guess who’s back.”

Lending credence that will make it to ASEAN countries is the fact that the Prelude was introduced as a Concept model at the recently-concluded 2024 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show in Malaysia.

To recall, the next-generation Prelude—due sometime late 2025 will pack Honda’s next-generation e:HEV system and S+ Shift system. In gist, it’s all about making a more fun-to-drive hybrid that also happens to be more economical.

Of note, the Prelude was never offered officially in the Philippines, so the potential arrival of the sixth-generation coupe is, naturally, getting car enthusiasts giddy with excitement. Plus, branding-wise, it should give Honda a much-needed boost since they can’t live on the Civic Type R hype forever.

  1. Good car & surely a nice Honda hybrid system. They're gonna slot this in against the 86 & BRZ. The problem now is, Honda overprices its vehicles.

  2. who knows, but it's exciting nonetheless :D Seeing as there's now a market for hybrid vehicles. But as with any sports car, be it hybrid or ice. It will be gamble in our market
