Although the carmaker did mention minor color and trim updates to the CX-60 for 2025, they didn’t mention anything about an exterior refresh. So, it comes as a surprise that one photo shows a Rhodium White CX-60 (in the XD Sport variant) sporting a different front bumper.

Compared to the current CX-60, the updated version has cleaner, slimmer vertically-oriented air intakes. Visually, it aligns the CX-60 closer to its larger cousin, the CX-90. It should also make it easier to distinguish from the 60’s three-row sibling, the recently-launched CX-80 which keeps the previous bumper design. (Note: it has been pointed out by some people that this is the bumper seen on lower variants of the CX-60 that is not available in the Philippines. Still, we kinda like the cleaner look).

You can also see the updated design in an accessorized form as part of the CX-60’s Signature Style package which adds bumper lips and side skirts (above photos).

This apparent leak aside, Mazda has officialized what’s changed for the CX-60 this 2025 and weirdly enough, it shows the current model bumpers and all. As such, the updates are limited to new colors and trims like what has been announced for Europe and Australia.

Chief among the updates include the appearance of Zircon Sand as an available color for the first time on the CX-60 (honestly, we thought that Melting Copper would look better, but hey, what do we know?). Originally available only on Mazda’s small vehicle line-up like global variants of the Mazda3, CX-30, CX-50, and even the MX-5, Zircon Sand is supposedly inspired by the color of sand used in engine casting. Its availability in the CX-60 makes it the biggest vehicle to be offered in that unique colorway.

The Zircon Sand shade aside, a new variant dubbed the CX-60 SP brings back the black wheel fenders and lower bumper finishes to the CX-60. This is topped off with a piano black grille with honeycomb inserts, a black chrome side fender garnish, gloss black mirrors, and variant-exclusive 20-inch wheels with black metallic paint. From photos, it kind of looks like an enlarged CX-5, and that’s something we’d like you to comment about below.

As for the rest of the 2025 CX-60 range, it receives new calibration to the electric power steering and rear-biased all-wheel drive. It also incorporates measures to reduce various noises and vibrations while driving.

Mechanically, the suspension has also been revised with changes to the dampers and springs—mainly in the rear—to improve handling and comfort. These suspension updates have already been applied to the Philippine market CX-60 in the form of customer satisfaction campaigns.
