To be shown to the public this January 10 to 12 at the annual aftermarket show, this R32 Skyline GT-R (BNR32) represents around two years of work by a dedicated team of volunteer engineers at Nissan.

No official technical details have been revealed yet, but it won’t be surprising if it’ll borrow bits from the Ariya Nismo. If that proves to be the case, it’ll have power figures deserving of a GT-R—435 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. Moreover, it’ll have a dedicated “Nismo” mode and of course, the brand’s advanced e-4orce all-wheel drive system.

Whatever the final specs would be, Nissan promises that this conversion will “capture and recreate the charm of the BNR32 by integrating modern electrification.” Plus, consider this a big upgrade from the stock R32 GT-R which made 280 horsepower and 353 Nm of torque from its 2.6-liter RB26DETT engine.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time a so-called “Legend of the 90s” received the full EV treatment. Previously, Toyota did so with the AE86 which received a Tundra HEV electric motor and a battery pack sourced from the Prius PHEV.
