The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is in the Guinness World Records book for the Greatest Altitude Change by An Electric Car.
Organized by Hyundai Motor India, the record attempt was driven by a professional team of drivers with the Ioniq 5 setting the record by registering an altitude change of 5,802 meters. The journey began at India’s highest drivable point, Umling La in Leh Ladakh, located 5,799 meters above sea level, and finished in Kuttanad, Kerala, situated three meters below sea level.
The feat was accomplished over 14 days, with the route covering more than 4,900 kilometers, tackling challenging terrain and extreme climatic conditions, and truly demonstrating the Ioniq 5’s resilience, advanced technology, and superior performance.
Throughout the journey, the it reaffirmed its position as a benchmark in electric mobility, seamlessly navigating harsh environments, from freezing temperatures and steep mountain passes in the Himalayas to humid coastal regions in Kerala.
The Ioniq 5, developed on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), has been designed to redefine smart mobility experiences. It features a futuristic and progressive design, inspired by Hyundai’s iconic Pony hatchback. Equipped with a high-capacity 72.6-kWh battery, it delivers exceptional driving range, advanced safety, and cutting-edge smart technologies.
To be honest, I cannot imagine how Hyundai would stick to itself as a relevant automaker even when there's Geely since the latter already has a couple of products that are considered to be better, especially when the Chinese company already has business with foreign properties like Volvo, Mercedes Benz, Lotus, Aston Martin and even Renault.
ReplyDeleteHave seen very few Ioniq 5 in the country. I mostly see BYD electric cars only.
ReplyDeleteThat's like challenge accepted to you, bro.
DeleteIoniq 5 is a good car. I don't why China fan boys insist it is not. China fan boys always insecure about competition. Get used to democracy where people can choose what they want. Go back to China if you want your socialist ways. More competition better this applies to all car makers.
ReplyDeleteEuropean, USA, korean, japanese brands focus on high end, high profit margin EV's. China brands focus on low cost, low profit margin EV's
ReplyDeleteThat's why its better to shift back to internal combustion engine-powered vehicles because that's the only way to survive, to be honest, and that's all.
