Hyundai has drastically changed their flagship SUV, the Palisade for 2026. The full-sized three-row SUV is now boxier and even offers seating up to nine enabling it to enter the bus lane in its home market of South Korea.
The 2026 Palisade features vertically-staked daytime running lights and headlights which are positioned inboard of the DRLs. Like the Santa Fe, it features a full-length front LED lightbar, while the massive grille itself has a horizontal segmented pattern that emphasizes its girth. A silver trim runs across the top of the windshield which is made to look continuous running the doors to the D-pillar and roof rails. At the back, the same vertically-stacked design echoes the front. Up to 21-inch wheels fill in the four corners.
Hyundai has yet to reveal the full specs of the Palisade (they only showed the design for now), but the brand says that the SUV is now longer with a longer wheelbase to match. However, they’ve reduced the front overhang, while adding some to the back.
The Palisade’s interior is equally changed. Described as a “Premium Living Space” that’s inspired by high-end furniture, the dual 12.3-inch curved displays now sit under a large cowl forming a sort-of shelf design. This scheme has been accentuated by ambient lighting. Thankfully, Hyundai has kept physical controls for the climate, infotainment, and other functions. The gear selector, like the Santa Fe, has moved to the steering column freeing up space on the center console for things like USB-C ports, wireless charging pads, and cup holders.
Here’s where things get neater. When speced, this center area can be raised revealing a front middle seat. This means that the Palisade can accommodate up to 9 people allowing it to be driven through South Korea’s bus lane.
Hyundai has yet to reveal the full mechanical specs of the all-new Palisade, but it’s expected to gain a turbocharged hybrid unit likely in the form of a V6. Another possibility is a plug-in hybrid variant.

ReplyDeleteIt'll likely be priced at 4 to 5 Million Pesos when it becomes available next year or so in the Philippine market
No more diesel engine variant for this one.
Bigger question is if can seat 9 passengers comfortably.

ReplyDeleteUsually vehicles of this size can hardly seat 8 people comfortably. For 9 seats, better consider a van instead.
