Customer deliveries have yet to start for Philippine customers, so it comes as a surprise that we will be one of the first countries to receive the refreshed Tesla Model Y.
Appearing on the Tesla official website, the Tesla Model Y comes in just two variants: the Rear-Wheel Drive (P 2,369,000) and the Long Range All-Wheel Drive (P 2,689,000). For those keeping score, these are the very same prices as the outgoing Model Y.
No Performance variant has been announced yet.
The “Juniper” update of the Model Y receives a redesigned front and rear-end. The front-end features a design reminiscent of the Cybertruck thanks to the light bar that spans the entire front. This is echoed at the back with a similar lightbar. The tailgate has been revised as well as for a more futuristic look, while the rear diffuser and wheels have been tweaked for improved aerodynamics.
Listed on the website is the Launch Edition of the new Model Y. This comes with a customized badge at the back, a puddle light badge, and a doorsill plate with the “Launch” marking. In addition, the charging console and floor mats feature silver accents, while the interior boasts an all-black vegan suede trim.
The Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive brings 466 kilometers of range while its single-motor system propels it from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 201 km/h. Meanwhile, the Long Range All-Wheel Drive variant gets nearly 100 kilometers more range (551 kilometers). Its dual-motor setup drops the 0 to 100 km/h to just 4.3 seconds. Top speed remains the same at 201 km/h.
Rolling stock is a set of 19-inch Crossflow alloy wheels in a dark finish as standard, or buyers may opt to step up in size to the 20-inch Helix 2.0 for P 133,000 additional. For exterior colors, Pearl White Multi-Coat is standard, while Stealth Gray and Glacier Blue command a P 99,000 extra. Opt for Quicksilver or Ultra Red and be ready to pay P 146,000 more.
Tesla has made significant updates to enhance cabin comfort and efficiency too. The refreshed Model Y offers a noticeably quieter cabin with double-layer glass for all windows and a silver-coated panoramic glass roof that reduces UV rays and heat. The interior includes features such as ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, and a second-row 8-inch display for passenger convenience. Rear passenger seats are now more functional, with users able to adjust their positions or fold them down at the press of a button.
The new Model Y comes with a 4-year or 80,000-kilometer bumper-to-bumper warranty, while the battery and drive unit comes with an 8-year or 192,000-kilometer warranty. Additional extras include Enhanced Autopilot (P 197,000) and Full-Self Driving Capability (P 394,000).
The Model Y can be reserved (non-refundable) for just P 15,000 via credit card.
