Honda, through Honda Foundation, Inc. (HFI) and Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) forged a Memorandum of Agreement with Tamang Ride PH, a road safety advocacy movement. Organized under the initiative of A Child’s Trust is Ours to Nurture (ACTION), Tamang Ride PH will create a comprehensive platform about road safety.
The partnership with HFI and HPI will promote road safety, focusing on safe driving/riding for children and beginners. With the capability of reaching the poorest communities through partnerships with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DWSD), Tamang Ride PH is set to launch in May 2025.
As the industry leader in road safety awareness and education, Honda will share road safety riding and riving skills training information and educational materials with Tamang Ride PH. It will enable the creation of road safety-related content which will be disseminated through events and even on Tamang Ride PH’s social media platforms.
Honda also donated P 1-million through HFI which will be used to fund the development of a Tamang Ride PH app.
Ultimately, this initiative aims to protect children and Filipino families. It aligns with Honda’s objective to expand its reach, particularly to kids (3 to 7 years old), teens (13 to 17 years old), and beginner riders.
Additionally, HPI has agreed for full collaboration with ACTION in the creation of the Tamang Ride Educational module, in providing know-how and funding of P 980,000. The Honda Safety Driving Center (HSDC), will share Honda original Kids on Safety and Teen Smart programs and lead the Training the Trainers and pilot run within the year.
In December 2024, Asian Honda announced Honda’s commitment to a multi-year partnership with the UN to improve road safety, marking a historic milestone as the first vehicle manufacturer to join the global partnership. This advances Honda’s global goal of halving traffic deaths by 2030. In the Philippines, Honda’s partnership with Tamang Ride PH marks a significant milestone in reducing road crashes and aiming for zero road crashes by 2050.
What Honda? The carmaker or the motorcycle manufacturer of the same name?
