Fans of the Nissan Patrol won’t have to wait long for the all-new seventh-generation model. Nissan Philippines has confirmed that it’s arriving in local showrooms this March.
Launched in September of last year, the all-new Patrol features a striking new design, an all-new powertrain, and enhanced off-road capability.
The all-new Patrol captures the essence of Nissan’s global design philosophy, while also taking on an “unbreakable” appearance. It has the updated V-motion grille, now made wider and more integrated into the body. Flanking it are double C-shaped headlights with adaptive driving beams. At the back, it has a full-width light bar with a segmented design and a hidden rear wiper.
Nissan hasn’t confirmed with powertrain the Philippine-spec Patrol would get, but globally it comes with the most powerful engine fitted to the nameplate to date: a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 with 425 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. This produces seven percent more power and 25 percent more torque than the outgoing V8, while also enhancing fuel efficiency (up 24 percent). The base engine is a 3.8-liter normally-aspirated V6 with 316 horsepower and 386 Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
The all-new Patrol also has several chassis changes including a 4WD transfer mode interlock system, a first for Nissan. It also adopts standard adaptive air suspension allowing for adjustable ride height (it drops 2 inches for easier ingress and egress from the standard 244 mm), improved high-speed aerodynamics and off-road performance. E-dampers also automatically adjust stiffness according to the driving conditions for a more controlled and comfortable on-board experience.
Inside, the Patrol is all about comfort and sophistication. Apart from its quilted leather seats inspired by the Japanese wood craft of Kumiko, the first two rows of seats have NASA-inspired spinal support tech. A segment-first Biometric Cooling technology uses a built-in infrared sensor to detect the body temperature of front and second row passengers, and automatically adjusts air flow settings to provide a smart, intuitive cooling experience.
The all-new Patrol also has improved cabin space, particularly in the first and third rows. Front legroom is up 107 mm, while third row legroom is up 145 mm. Cargo space is also higher than ever, rising by up to 30 percent. The third-row seats are power folding and the tailgate is power-actuated with hands-free tech.
In terms of safety tech, it comes with increased Nissan Intelligent Mobility functions including a 360-degree camera with three new views: Invisible Hood View, Ultra-Wide Front View (170 degrees field of vision), and Rear Zoom View. A new body structure, constructed with increased use of high-strength steel, improves frontal crash and pedestrian protection. A driver’s knee airbag is new to the model, boosting its airbag count to seven.
Yeah makahabol pa before election, crook pols has lots and lots of money to buy it.
ReplyDeletePhiliipines already has Nissan's Livina and Terra anyway.
ReplyDeleteUmm no one cross-shops the Patrol with the Terra, much less the Livina
DeleteNavara with updated Engine specs naman sana. 😐
ReplyDeleteNissan already has Mitsubishi anyway.
DeleteWait for the next generation one based on the Mitsubishi Triton
DeleteThe Triton also shares the same mechanical parts with the Hyundai H100 and Kia K2700 because they are also developed by Mitsubishi.
DeleteThe only common thing about the livina and patrol is the brand. No offense but high Ata nag comment
ReplyDeleteUly, would you know about Middle East sales of the new Patrol?
ReplyDeleteUly only focuses on the PH car market, to be honest.
DeleteThe current model is 4.758M. The new one could breach 5M but will likely undercut the LC300 to attract buyers.
ReplyDeleteThe Patrol was the pet project of Carlos Ghosn, he said that Nissan is the best in trucks while Toyota with commuter vehicles.
