28,828 Toyota Raize Will Require A Re-Programming Of Their Engine ECU

A total of 28,828 Toyota Raize sub-compact SUVs are subject to a recall due to possible hard braking. These units, covering a production period of December 1, 2021 to July 15, 2024 will require a re-programming of their engine ECU.

Toyota Motor Philippines has found out that these units may have an improperly programmed engine ECU. At certain driving conditions such as repeated braking at high altitudes, the suction pressure in the brake booster may not be maintained as designed. If this occurs, this could make the brake pedal harder to press, which means the vehicle might take longer to stop.

The carmaker says a reprogramming of the engine ECU is needed to rectify the situation and that involved customers have already been notified by Toyota Motor Philippines through Official Notification Letters. Authorized Toyota dealerships will perform the reprogramming at no cost to the customer.

Customers may also check if the Toyota vehicle is included in any active Service Campaign here.

  3. Recall is an integral part of vehicle manufacturing business to correct defects that later pop out. if a car manufacturer seldom or never issued recall then you must worry, very worry.

---> Peeps be careful when going downhill from Tagaytay, Baguio, Antipolo, etc. If you frequent these areas, hope you get yours reprogrammed soonest.

  6. 3 years and we haven't heard any news about an incident regarding this. Why bother arguing why Chinese cars doesn't make recalls? 2 realities of asian automotive industry as most car owners would say. 1. Japanese manufacturers are too obsessed with quality they would always check the chances of failure on their work to the point that they will issue recalls upon seeing a very small chance of it happening. 2. Chinese cars are expected to fail by almost everyone. If they do a recall it will just add fuel to the fire of the stigma.
