Geely Motor PH Outlines Cheaper, Better, Faster Strategy

Geely is now operating as a subsidiary with direct ties to Geely Automotive International Corporation (GAIC). During its brand re-launch, the head of Geely Motor Philippines, Willy Wan outlined its strategy which can be summarized as: cheaper, better, faster.

Apart from introducing new versions of the Coolray and Emgrand as well as previewing its first-ever all-electric SUV, the EX5, Geely Motor Philippines has realigned its pricing to make them more competitive. Their line-up, now composed of the GX3 Pro, Emgrand, and Coolray are priced as follow:
  • GX3 Pro S MT – P 729,000 (from P 778,000)
  • GX3 Pro Comfort AT – P 799,000 (from 878,000)
  • Emgrand Luxury – P 949,000 (from P 999,000)
  • Coolray Comfort Plus – P 1,139,000 (from P 1,099,000)
  • Coolray Premium Plus – P 1,199,000 (from P 1,199,000)
  • Coolray Sport Plus – P 1,299,000 (from P 1,299,000)
Kicking off their re-launch, early buyers of the Coolray can enjoy a P 70,000 discount. On top of that, Geely is offering a special promotion where users can enjoy an even larger discount of P 90,000 by placing a P 10,000 deposit before February 28. For the Emgrand, early buyers can take advantage of a P 40,000 discount.

Geely says that new versions of the Azkarra and Okavango are also coming soon, part of their planned four-vehicle launch program for 2025. They will also introduce their very own range of Plug-In Hybrids (PHEVs) as well.

Moreover, acknowledging that parts availability (or lack thereof) and aftersales service (or lack thereof) are the biggest headaches for Geely customers, the brand’s new 4,700-square-meter parts facility is now online and distributing parts to the more than 30,000 owners and 30 Geely dealerships across the country.

Operating from Monday to Saturday, the center utilizes air express for urgent orders and land or sea transport for regular and stocking orders. The inventory includes a comprehensive range of parts, such as maintenance items, warranty components, body repair and paint parts, lubricants, accessories, merchandise, special service tools, and consumables.

Wan also said that two other parts warehouses—one in Cebu and another in Mindanao will go online by the second quarter of 2025.

Geely also announced a new customer initiative called “Geely Go.” The program prioritizes Geely Owners by seamlessly connecting resources from sales, aftersales, and brand segments to uplift ownership at every step. Furthermore, it will form part of a global user community based on smartly connected user experience (goodbye, Geely Marites?)

The first associated program with Geely Go is the Geely Refer and Earn activity. Each time an existing Geely owner introduces a new customer to a Geely dealership before March 31, both parties can receive a maintenance voucher worth P 2,000. If the new user pays a down payment for a new car, this maintenance voucher can be further increased by an additional P 2,000.

  1. Nice, they have good products. Improved after sales would be the key for geely ph resurgents

  3. They said cheaper, but heard their EX5 is going to be 1.85m less 110k. Very disappointing. Its selling point is that its cheaper and better than the Atto 3 in China. In the Thai market, the Geely EX5 Pro will be on sale for THB859,000 (P1.46 million) while the Max gets a THB949,000 (P1.61 million) price tag. But I guess, they see us as a market they can overprice. Im actually not happy with BYD pricing as Thai, Australia and PH gets approximately the same pricing, but Thailand reported has a discount of almost 500k, and Australia slashed their prices across the board by around 100-150k. Only the Sealion 6 is well priced at around 350k cheaper for us. But because of Geely and MG not giving us competitive price, there is no pressure for BYD to lower their prices as well.
