Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP), through its dealer partner, HMEN Motors – Fuso Pangasinan turned over a fleet of 27 Fuso Canter FE73 Drop-side units to the local government unit (LGU) of Burgos, Ilocos Sur. This turnover was part of the Farmer’s Day celebration, an annual festival event dedicated in honoring the farmers of Burgos for their invaluable contributions to the agriculture and economy of Ilocos Sur and the Philippines.

The 27 Fuso Canter FE73 Drop-side units will be distributed to each of Burgos’ 26 barangays, with the remaining unit allocated for municipal use. These vehicles are essential for supporting each barangay’s agricultural activities, providing farmers with the means of transporting their goods efficiently and enhancing the region’s overall productivity.

The Fuso Canter is known for its durability, reliability, and versatility, making it ideal for the agricultural sector. With its gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 4,490 kilograms, the vehicle ensures that the farmers of Burgos can transport their produce, materials and equipment with ease. It is also powered by a 4P10- WAT2 turbocharged CRDi engine that generates a maximum power of 131 horsepower and 350 Nm, ideal for transporting agricultural products such as rice, vegetables, and other produce.

The installed drop-side bodies which passed Fuso’s truck body standards will further enhance the vehicle’s ability to hold out against the heavy demands of the daily farmer’s operations. It is a versatile and practical solution for the farming community of Burgos.

“We would like to thank the local government unit of Burgos for choosing Fuso as your partner in advancing our agricultural operations. We are proud to support our local farmers, who play such a vital role in the economy of Burgos and Ilocos Sur. Moving forward, we remain committed to providing solutions that drive progress and empower various industries. We look forward to supporting more initiatives for many years to come. Ayos, Burgos,” said Mr. Yosuke Nishi, SFP President & CEO.
