Lexus has put in minor updates to its RX mid-sized SUV for the 2025 model year. Launched in Japan, and to be rolled out gradually globally, the new RX features improvements to quietness, ride comfort, and tech features.

The already refined Lexus RX gets an even quieter interior thanks to increased sound deadening in the dashboard as well as the use of acoustic glass even at the rear door windows. In the RX 500h, Lexus went further by tweaking the engine control module to reduce engine noise while tuning the Active Sound Control system.

Added quietness aside, the RX’s handling has been optimized with new settings for its shock absorbers, electric power steering, and adaptive variable suspension system. The throttle calibration has also been changed. Dynamic Rear Steering—a feature once exclusive to the RX 500h—is now available on all-wheel drive variants of the RX 450h+ and the RX 350h.

Inside, the 2025 RX now gets a 12.3-inch full digital gauge cluster as standard equipment. This is on top of an expanded ambient lighting which now covers the front of the front console. A high-contrast white/black interior scheme is also added to the palette.

Outside, the new RX communicates its changes with new 21-inch alloy wheel designs with dark gray metallic, dark premium metallic paint, or dark gray metallic + machined sides.

Powertrain-wise, the RX remains unchanged for 2025 with the base RX 350 still getting a turbocharged 2.4-liter 4-cylinder. Both the RX 350h and RX 450h+ get the same 2.5-liter 4-cylinder hybrid with the only difference being the RX 450h+ offering the convenience of a plug-in hybrid. Finally, the RX 500h has a performance-oriented turbocharged 2.4-liter hybrid.
