The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in the U.S. has awarded the new Audi Q7 with the 2025 Top Safety Pick+ rating.
This distinction underscores the full-size SUV’s advanced safety features which, when combined with first-class seating for seven people, make it the ideal choice for families seeking security, space, and versatility.
Audi Philippines launched the 2025 Q7 last January, representing the start of the company’s series of introductions as it celebrates 20 years in the country.
In securing the coveted Top Safety Pick+ rating, the new Q7 demonstrated exceptional crashworthiness across multiple tests.
It earned the distinction by meeting the IIHS’s tougher criteria for 2025. This change in evaluations reduced the number of vehicles currently qualifying for the organization’s coveted safety rating.
The new Q7 was given a top “Good” rating in this more rigorous examination focusing on rear-passenger safety during a moderate-overlap front collision test. This simulates a head-on collision at 65 km/h, and now uses an additional crash dummy to better assess injuries to rear-seat occupants.
In addition to excelling in the updated moderate-overlap front crash test, the Q7 received top marks in the small-overlap front and side-impact evaluations. The model was also cited for its pedestrian front crash prevention system, which performed effectively in both daytime and nighttime conditions.
Meeting these more stringent criteria solidifies the Q7’s reputation for prioritizing occupant safety.
The new Q7 comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety- and driver-assistance systems. Among these is the cruise control system with speed limiter, which maintains a pre-selected speed, as well as prevents the vehicle from exceeding this. Complementing this system is the lane departure assist, which automatically keeps the new Q7 between lane markings.
The Park Assist with Parking System Plus further make it easy and safe for drivers to maneuver the full-size SUV.
Also guaranteeing safety in any driving condition is Audi’s renowned Quattro all-wheel drive system, which delivers power to the axle with the best traction available. This results in a consistently stable drive over any road surface.
Matching the safety and driver-assistance features are premium cabin items like the updated Audi virtual cockpit and MMI system, a Bang & Olufsen premium audio system, four-zone air-conditioning with the air quality package, and the ambient LED interior lighting package.
The new Q7’s cabin provides generous room in both the front and the two rows of rear seats. The two rearmost seats can fold electrically to accommodate more luggage. This cargo compartment offers top-class volume whether the third-row seats are put up or folded down. An electrically powered tailgate can be activated by a swipe gesture.
Powering the new Q7 is a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder TFSI gasoline engine that, combined with an eight-speed automatic, delivers 340 hp and 500 Nm of torque.
