The Hyundai Tucson has made its mark in being the upgrade of choice for people who want to transition from a sedan to a higher vehicle. Not only does it offer a more spacious, comfortable, and safer ride as compared to a lower car, it is also at the top of the list when it comes to features that befit the lifestyle of the modern-day driver.
Fast-forward to 2025, the Hyundai Tucson has embraced the world of electrification with the new Tucson Hybrid. Apart from the exterior and interior improvements of the Tucson as it transitioned from ICE to Hybrid, the spotlight shines on how electrification has significantly changed the experience of driving a Hyundai.
It was only a matter of time before Hyundai’s best-selling crossover is equipped with the benefits of sustainable power. By the simplest, most basic definition, running on a parallel hybrid system means that the presence of the electric motor makes fuel consumption more economical, which naturally results in greater savings.
The new Hyundai Tucson Hybrid features Regenerative Braking with Paddle Shift. This allows the driver to adjust the intensity of the regenerative braking system using the paddle shift lever. The driver can fine-tune the deceleration level up to 33 steps in ECO/SMART mode for optimal driving comfort and improved fuel efficiency.
Hyundai, however, takes it to the next level by using electrification to improve the one thing that is normally compromised with hybrids – driving performance. The new Hyundai Tucson Hybrid features an exclusive e-Motion Drive system that automatically switches between e-Dynamic Drive and e-Comfort Drive, depending on the road conditions.
The e-Dynamic Drive system seamlessly controls the brakes, transmission, and torque for improved traction and smooth cornering during sudden turns or acceleration. It features electrically-assisted handling performance (e-Handling) and electric dynamic vectoring torque control for better stability and grip, thereby reducing risks of collision.
Complementing the e-Dynamic Drive is the e-Comfort Drive, which is built with the e-Ride Gen 1 and 2, an electrically-controlled ride comfort feature that minimizes shaking while traversing speed bumps and controlling the motor to reduce shaking while accelerating. This results in a smoother ride for both driver and passenger.
In addition to the e-Motion Drive system, the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid features a Green Zone Mode, activated by the Green Zone EV Drive option to maximize to provide eco-friendly and energy-efficient performance when entering green zones. The system utilizes navigation data to automatically switch off the engine and operate solely on the electric motor.
As a hybrid-exclusive feature, the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is equipped with a Baby Mode. This is designed to minimize disruptive shocks for babies in car seats. When activated, the mode adjusts the motor torques for smoother acceleration and reduces shocks from the stopper when parking.
Safety is a premium in vehicles today and Hyundai understands this. As a standard, the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is equipped with Hyundai SmartSense, the brand’s very own driver assist system that incorporates advanced safety features to keep both driver and passengers confident on the road. These features include Cruise Control, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Follow Assist, Blind Spot View Monitor, Reserve Parking Collision Avoidance Assist, Parking Distance Warning, Manual Speed Limit Assist, Rear Occupant Alert, and a Surround View Monitor. It also comes with 6 Airbags, Child Lock, Immobilizer, ABS, and others.
