After teasing that they’ll be bringing in JMC’s EV line-up a few days back, Astara Philippines has now confirmed that they’ll soon be offering vehicles under the JMEV (Jiangxi Jiangling Group New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd.) brand.
This expansion marks a significant milestone, as JMC broadens its lineup beyond pickup trucks to include EV hatchbacks and sedans.
While official model details for the Philippine market will be announced soon, JMEV currently offers models such as the EV2, EV3, and E Light in global markets, including China and Europe.
According to Astara Philippines, JMEV brings a fresh and future-forward alternative to Filipino consumers. With a balance of advanced technology, efficiency, and reliability, JMEV cars complement JMC Philippines' existing models, offering a versatile selection for both eco-conscious drivers and those who demand rugged performance.
The teaser provided by Astara Philippines shows the EV3, a sub-compact hatchback that runs on an exclusive EV platform called the AMEV Pure Intelligent EV platform. Measuring in at 3,720 mm in length, 1,640 mm in width, and 1,535 mm in height, the EV3 uses a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a 49 horsepower (36 kW) and 140 Nm of torque engine. With a lithium-ion battery (NCM chemistry), it should offer up to 302 kilometers of range.
