After driving shoes, driving gloves, and a chronograph watch, Mazda Spirit Racing has come up with its latest collaboration that brings together the meticulous attention to detail of Mazda’s car designers and engineers from these Japanese partners.
This time, Mazda Design partnered with Jins, Japan’s largest eyewear retailer to come up with the Mazda Spirit Racing sunglasses.
Shaped to blend naturally with the facial features of Japanese people, this pair of sunglasses has a simple, yet sophisticated shape while also providing optimal visibility and a comfortable fit.
The mold itself is carved by Mazda’s designers and modelers. While production itself is done at Jins’ skilled craftsmen in Sabe City in Fukui Prefecture.
The glasses are made of lightweight titanium, while the hinges are made of beta titanium that’s strong, yet flexible to reduce the pressure on the wearer’s temples.
The Mazda Spirit Racing sunglasses lenses are polarized with a visible light transmittance level of 33 percent. This allows it to diffuse light reflections and glare, while still ensuring visibility during daytime driving.
The packaging is exclusive to this model and features a case engraved with Mazda Spirit Racing / Jins and a cleaning cloth.
If you’re wondering just how much this cost, get ready to spend 39,600 yen. It will be sold exclusively on the Mazda Collection website.
