New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) has introduced an automated parking system at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to help further improve the overall airport experience.
With the new system, drivers enter through unmanned entrances, where they will receive an automated ticket. Payment will be through a “pay before you exit” scheme, and upon exit, motorists will present a QR code. This, according to NNIC will significantly reduce waiting times and improve the overall traffic flow.
The system went live at NAIA Terminal 3 on March 1, with expansion to NAIA Terminals 1 and 2 set for March 14, 2025.
Further enhancing efficiency, real-time parking slot displays will be installed at Terminal 3 by April, and at Terminals 1 and 2 by May. This will allow drivers to check available spaces before entering.
Currently, only cash payments are accepted, but starting March 14, the system will be able to support multiple payment options including GCash, PayMaya, debit, and even credit cards.
By July, auto pay stations will be operational across all terminals, further speeding up transactions.
