After announcing that they’ll be making it available to left-hand drive markets, Nissan says they’ve begun exporting the Magnite sub-compact SUV from its plant in Chennai, India.
While the first batch of left-hand drive units are destined for the Middle East sometime this month, the carmaker says they will also export it to more than 65 countries, including most left-hand drive markets in North Africa, Latin America, and yes, even Asia-Pacific.
As a nameplate, the Magnite was first launched in December 2020. A refresh in 2024 brought with it new aesthetic changes including a more robust exterior design and higher levels of technologies such a configurable TFT driver’s display, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, and adjustable ambient lighting.
It also comes with a comprehensive suite of safety features, including six airbags, ABS with EBD, vehicle dynamics control, and a rearview camera.
Like before, the Magnite is powered by a turbocharged 1.0-liter engine, offering the optimum balance of fuel economy and responsive performance. The HRA0 engine produces 100 horsepower and 160 Nm of torque—providing up to 50 percent better acceleration compared to normally aspirated engines in its class. It can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or X-tronic continuously variable transmission.
Although Nissan Philippines remains coy about the prospects of the Magnite locally, it was previewed at the Philippine International Motor Show last October alongside the X-Trail e-Power.
Nissan Motors PH will launched soon like Ariya, Elgrand, Note and Serena
