Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has formally launched the 2025 GR Yaris and as confirmed by LTO certification documents, it now comes in both manual and automatic flavors. Retail sales start on March 6 at Toyota GR Performance dealerships (see list below).
Launched at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon, the refreshed GR Yaris sports a bolder look with new LED headlights and DRLs. The bumpers have been reshaped for a more aerodynamic exterior design with larger openings for optimized cooling. Furthermore, the bumpers now contain outlets to help extract heat from the powertrain, further optimizing its performance. At the sides are forged alloy wheels with 225/40R18 tires. At the back, it receives new rear combination lamps with a full-width light bar, while the high-mount stop lamp has been separated from the rear spoiler, increasing the spoiler’s customizability.
Under the hood is an uprated version of the 1.6-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine. The G16E-GTS now packs 280 horsepower and 390 Nm of torque (98 octane required), up from 261 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque. It has also adopted an upgraded drive mode select, as well as a new sub-radiator and intercooler spray to provide additional cooling and increase the overall performance of the vehicle.
The New GR Yaris comes with two transmission options: a 6-speed manual (iMT) or a brand-new 8-speed direct shift automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
Inside, the cockpit has been heavily revised. It is now tilted 15 degrees towards the driver, enhancing visibility and operability. Also, forward visibility has been expanded by moving the rearview mirror to the top of the windshield and lowering the upper edge of the center cluster by 50 mm. The driver receives a 12.3-inch full-color TFT gauge display. At the center is a 7-inch display audio with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto.
It is also equipped with additional safety features such as a back monitor, intelligent clearance sonar, tire pressure monitoring, and the improved Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) package with Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) system and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA). Additionally, the AT variant comes with Dynamic Radar Cruise Control while the MT variant comes with Adaptive Cruise Control.
The New GR Yaris is available at a starting price of P 3,391,000 for the 1.6L Turbo MT and P 3,550,000 for the 1.6L Turbo AT (as confirmed by an earlier leak). It comes in the following colorways: Super White, Emotional Red (+ P 20,000), Precious Black (+ P 20,000), and Precious Metal (+ P 20,000), which is being offered for the first time.
The GR Yaris will be on display at Race Weekend 1 of the 2025 Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup this March 22, 2025 at the Clark International Speedway. Admission is free. Orders are now being accepted at the following Toyota GR Performance dealerships:

Too late to come. The cheaper byd seal awd and MG4 x power are cheaper and easier to maintain. They are also significantly faster 0 to 100kph in less than 4 seconds.
ReplyDeleteSubaru WRX and Ford Mustang Ecoboost Premium are way more affordable and practical to buy
ReplyDeleteLBX way better
ReplyDeleteToo late, too expensive and too ugly, I simply don't like the way it looks.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good investment. Haven't you noticed? The second-hand price isn't going down. Quite the opposite, it's actually increasing!
