Team Mitsubishi Ralliart Wants To Win Again At The 2025 Asia Cross Country Rally

Mitsubishi Motors and Team Mitsubishi Ralliart will return to the 2025 Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) using the Triton once again. Set to compete in the T1 (modified cross country vehicle category), the Triton will hit the rally stages starting at the ceremonial start on August 8 in Pattaya, Thailand. After that, it’s a race north all the way to Phnom Penh, Cambodia on August 16.

Having won the AXCR in 2022, Mitsubishi and Team Mitsubishi Ralliart believe that the improvements they have for this year, including durability enhancements for the engine, will help them reclaim the title.

Last year, Team Mitsubishi Ralliart took on the 2024 AXCR and successfully took the overall lead by Stage 4 relying on its enhanced driving performance and handling over its competition which had larger displacement engines. Unfortunately, despite building a lead of over 20 minutes, the Triton was forced to retire later during to engine trouble.

The AXCR, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary this 2025, will be longer—approximately 2,500 kilometers (from 2,000 kilometers) over eight days. Taking this into account, Team Mitsubishi Ralliart says they’ve fully primed the Triton by focusing on engine durability as well as chassis refinements and other frame optimization.

The livery Team Mitsubishi Ralliart will use continues with its energetic red color. From the front to the center of the car, it’s adorned with the digital graphic of a sandstorm. The Ralliart logo, meanwhile, is displaced on the sides.

“Last year, the Triton with significantly enhanced driving performance was able to hold its own against rivals with high displacement and took a large lead in first place overall on the first day of the second half. Unfortunately, it ran into trouble and ended up sidelined from the competition, but we affirm ed that the Triton has more than enough potential to win the overall championship. This year, with an even more rigorous rally in terms of both days and distance for the 30th anniversary competition, we have a vehicle with enhanced durability that can harness its fantastic potential throughout the rally as we aim for our first overall win in three years,” said Hiroshi Masuoka, team director of Team Mitsubishi Ralliart.
