After completing 1,488.8 kilometers on a single charge and tank last month, Jaecoo Philippines has announced that its plug-in hybrid compact SUV, the Jaecoo J7 SHS will be priced under P 1.7-million. It will be previewed at the Manila International Auto Show from April 10 to 13, 2025.

For the local market, the Jaecoo J7 SHS will come in two variants—Comfort and Premium. Both are powered by a “Super Hybrid System” which incorporates a 1.5-liter turbocharged direct injected gasoline engine and electric motor that delivers a combined 347 horsepower (255 kW) and 525 Nm of torque.

The SHS allows the Jaecoo J7 SHS to run on Full Electric, Series Hybrid, Parallel Hybrid, and Energy Recover (regen) modes which contributed to its fuel economy figure. Supplemented by an 18.3-kWh lithium-ion battery, it can even run on pure electric power at distances of up to 106 kilometers. The battery itself comes with an “all-around battery protection system” allowing it to withstand temperatures ranging from minus 35 degrees to 60 degrees Celsius.

The Jaecoo J7 SHS measures in at 4,500 mm in length, 1,865 mm in width, and 1,670 mm in height. It’s decked out in the brand’s signature design such as the Waterfall Grille, gloss black side mirrors, and full-width LED taillights. Inside, it has a fully-digital 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 14.8-inch infotainment screen with integrated voice command.

On the safety front, it offers a Driver Monitoring System (DMS) as well as a 360-degree high-definition panoramic camera with under chassis view.

The first batch of Jaecoo J7 SHS units will arrive by May 2025. Interested buyers may now pre-order it at Omoda & Jaecoo Philippines dealerships located in Manila, Pasig, Alabang, Sta. Rosa, Cebu City, and Tagum City.
