Luxury new energy vehicle carmaker Aito is now in the Philippines. Distributed by QSJ Motors, Aito is born out of a collaboration between carmaker Seres and tech powerhouse Huawei. With a name that means, “Adding Intelligence to Auto,” it’s meant to set a new benchmark when it comes to luxury and on-road tech.
The flagship Aito M9 joins the line-up and is available in pure electric or range-extended electric (REEV). In pure electric guise (the Aito M9 Ultra), it offers a 630-kilometer range thanks to a 100-kWh lithium-ion battery. Meanwhile, going for the REEV, buyers have a choice of opting for a smaller 42-kWh (Aito M9 Max) or larger 52-kWh battery pack (Aito M9 Ultra). Regardless, it offers more than 1,000 kilometers of range despite its stout 496 horsepower and 675 Nm figure.
Like the Aito 5 and Aito 7, the Aito M9 uses the versatile Aito MF Platform. The highly adaptable platform incorporates four key characteristics: Intelligent Safety, Diverse Powertrain, Adaptable Cabin Space, and Leading Intelligence. The platform supports multiple power options, including not just REEV but BEV as well.
Measuring in at 5,230 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,800 mm in height, the Aito M9’s design is meant to evoke stately power. Its million-pixel Galaxy LED headlights dominate the front-end, while at the back is the distinctive Starlight taillights. Measuring in at 5,230 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,800 mm in height, the Aito M9 is squarely in the large luxury SUV category, a fact reiterated by its generous 3,110 mm wheelbase.
Inside, the Aito M9 is all about comfort with Zero Gravity seats, adaptive dual armrests (it adjusts to the seat angle), and a 25-speaker surround sound system. Other luxury accoutrements include white ash wood trim, crystal knobs, dual-mode in-car refrigerator, a built-in fragrance system, and a 16.8-million color ambient lighting system.
The intelligent cockpit system, developed by Huawei, seamlessly connects the instrument cluster, central control, and passenger screens. The same system controls the intelligent driving systems giving the Aito M9 advanced levels of self-driving capability including remote park and remote summon.
Reservations for the Aito M9 are now open with the following prices:
- Aito M9 Max REEV – P 5,757,000
- Aito M9 Ultra REEV – P 6,357,000
- Aito M9 Ultra EV – P 6,557,000
I would rather go for BMW X5 phev, no range anxiety, also fuel efficient.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the above comment, the relevant comparison in terms of luxury and features is between the AITO M9 MAX REEV(effectively a PHEV) at P5.757M, and the 2025 BMW X50e (a PHEV) at P6.99M with both not having Range Anxiety issues. Both are AWD with very similar 0-100kph acceleration times.
DeleteAssuming I had the funds for either I would go for the BMW as the BMW has heritage & is likely to be more reliable then the just released AITO M9 notwithstanding the P1.2+M premium for the BMW.
It appears though that that the M9 is likely to be more efficient as the M9 has a 42Kw battery vs. 25.7Kw for the X50e where the M9's 63.4% larger battery would provide more, but less expensive, electric range.
For me a more interesting comparison would be between an AITO M7 REEV ULTRA AWD at P3.957M and the X50e at P6.99M. Both are about the same size with the M7 seating 6 to the 5 in the X50e, with both having very similar 0-100kph acceleration times.
In the preceded scenario I would seriously consider The M7 as I have both a Chinese HEV and a PHEV and and satisfied with the HEV but quite pleased with PHEV.
Note that I was at the 2025 MIAS to checkout the Chinese electrified vehicles and focused on the PHEVS as I'm not ready to go Pure EV.
What was frustrating though was that 90% of the brand associates seriously lacked vital specifications/knowledge of the vehicles they were selling. Only the AITO associates answered all my questions. The other brands associates should wake-up.
