VinFast Philippines has announced ambitious expansion plans in the local market. The Vietnamese carmaker has targets to expand to over 60 locations in the country and will open their own EV charging network to rival Tesla and even ACMobility courtesy of its independently run subsidiary, V-Green.
At the Manila International Auto Show, VinFast has signed agreements with eight dealer groups to establish showrooms across the Philippines. These partners include Autoflare, Xentro Mall, Semicon, EV Tech, Xentro Motors, Cagara, Toncars, and Wheelworld.
Under the agreement, Autoflare will launch 20 showrooms in 2025 with five set to open in the second quarter, 10 in the third quarter, and five in the fourth quarter. Xentro Mall, on the other hand, will develop at least 32 showrooms across its mall network and open three 3S—sales, service, spare parts—dealerships within the year. Semicon, EV Tech, Xentro Motors, Cagara, Toncars, and Wheelworld will open one each.
“Partnering with top distributors in the Philippines is a strategic step in VinFast’s journey to make electric vehicles more accessible throughout the region. With the support of these experienced local partners, we are confident in quickly building a strong distribution network that delivers comprehensive and distinctive experiences to customers,” said Duong Thi Thu Trang, Deputy CEO of Global Sales at VinFast.
VinFast’s local expansion plans will also include the introduction of V-Green, an EV charging station established by VinFast (and Vingroup Corporation) chairman Pham Nhat Vuong.
Spun off from VinFast’s charging station development division, V-Green operates as a global partner to VinFast, spearheading the creation of a comprehensive charging network. This move will allow V-Green to focus solely on infrastructure investment independently from VinFast and enable the Vietnamese EV manufacturer to prioritize market expansion and sustainable development.
In a separate MoU signing, V-Green will use eTreego as the lead supplier for its EV charging solutions.
In the Philippines, V-Green aims to deploy 15,000 charging points across the country by the end of this year. And as an added perk, VinFast vehicles, like the recently-launched VF 6, will come with free charging credits providing “zero fuel cost” benefits to its customers for two years.
“We are proud to partner with VinFast in building a comprehensive and convenient EV ecosystem. Expanding the charging network not only supports customer confidence in choosing VinFast EVs but also strengthens public awareness of electric mobility infrastructure in the Philippines. Together with VinFast and our local partners, we’re working toward a greener and more sustainable transportation future for Filipino communities,” said Nguyen Thanh Duong, CEO of V-Green.
