First Drive: 2018 Nissan Leaf
The Nissan Leaf was never a looker. Going back to the first-generation model, it looked dorky. With a shape likely dictated more by aerodynamic efficiency than head-turning good looks, it looked like a fish; a fish out of water in fact next to sophisticated looking family hatchbacks and cute-utes. Nonetheless, Nissan managed to move some 300,000 examples, cementing it as the world’s best-selling EV (take that, Tesla).

2018 Ford Ranger Raptor vs 2018 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Diesel: Tale of the Tape
Ford says that the first-ever Ranger Raptor is unlike any performance truck the world has seen. Inspired by the grueling world of Baja desert racing, it’s not meant to just go over obstacles, but actually jump over them as well. Of course, one doesn’t have to look far to see that Chevrolet’s actually built their own hardcore version of the Colorado. Dubbed the ZR2, it’s a US-only model for now. But what happens if they do meet face-to-face on Manila streets? Well, this tale of the tape will tell.

How Much Money Do You Save Driving a Nissan Leaf?
Admittedly, practicality is the least interesting reason to buy a car. There’s no giddiness in choosing that diesel-fed SUV over that swoopy turbocharged sportscar just because it saves you more gas. And yet, that’s the mindset that a vast majority of buyers will find themselves in come their next car purchase. Forget about saving the environment or feeding your enthusiast soul for that matter, it’s all about which one gives you more savings; which one extends your peso so that you can feed your family and meet the monthly financing dues of your new car at the same time. This is the sort of market the Nissan Leaf finds itself in.
